Daniëlle Pretorius-Van Wyk received her BA Fine Arts degree (cum laude) in 2018 from the University of the Free State. She specialised in painting and photography. In 2017 she was invited to become a member of the Free State Art Collective (FSAC). She has exhibited in a variety of group exhibitions in Bloemfontein, Johannesburg and Somerset-Wes. She was a finalist in the New Breed Art Competition in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021, where she received a special mention for her artwork: Middagslapie (2020). Her works are collected in private and corporate art collections (Phatshoane Henney Attorneys).

Pretorius-Van Wyk is currently living and working in Bloemfontein. She teaches art classes to children, students and adults. Currently, in her studio practice, she is focussing on painting, exploring themes and ideas related to intimacy and authenticity.
